Leptir - Stockfish clone

Author:December 2025: My new tactical monster, Leptir TI MPV. Two weeks ago, I released the Leptir TI engine. I was then asked to also create an MPV version with a Random Open mode. Until now, I hadn't been able to bring myself to do it. But now I've finally done it.
Leptir TI MPV uses the 1024 dimension network, which is tactically very strong. However, the engine's search differs significantly from Stockfish dev! Leptir TI's search is considerably less selective. Leptir TI comes with three MPV random variants pre-configured – for the best tactical results! If you set MPV to 1, the engine plays as in normal mode without randomness. Slow movers and minimum thinking time are also implemented. The calculated move appears on the display after approximately 6 seconds.

Stockfish is a free, powerful UCI chess engine derived from Glaurung 2.1. Stockfish is not a complete chess program and requires a UCI-compatible graphical user interface (GUI) (e.g. XBoard with PolyGlot, Scid, Cute Chess, eboard, Arena, Sigma Chess, Shredder, Chess Partner or Fritz) in order to be used comfortably.
