  1. I tried to buy this from Chessok.com, and they've been sitting on my order refusing to process it for longer than a week now. They completely ignore all my E-mails. Let the buyer beware.

  2. Aquarium has great features:
    - any UCI engine support -- do not buy Houdini version version, stockfish is free and great (unless you want to make chess engine compete with each other, another available function)
    - remote UCI engine with RTHomeServer/RTSingleServer (hard-to-find freeware); I connected it with stockfish, and can specify # of cores in options (up-to 128?)
    - game editor (.pgn and other databases) with copy-paste support and annotations -- love it to enter chess book discussion
    - analyze position/game/etc - included. Their signature feature is IDeA -but I did not try it, for me single position analysis is good enough.
    - Overall UI feels pleasant.

But it looks like it is not well supported:
    - it works well with Win7, but on Win 10 interface was laggy (better: Win7 virtual box with remote UCI)
    - Game database search requires full player name -- ?? -- it is easier to find game of interest in Google.
    - Full game analysis does not work under linux+wine (but position analysis works). I ran into a similar issue with Win10 - game analysis stopped working.
    - Some other random bugs impact usability (could be fixed by reinstall)
    - UI works with linux+wine, but has some annoying glitches.

... I got it from chessok, but I do not think that ChessOK really supports it. I've seen slow downloads from a server given by IP with their products. Aquarium had great potential, and it is very good if you are willing to deal with bug workarounds.

    1. Thank you for your interesting opinion. Unfortunately, Aquarium is a product that lags behind chessbase products.

    2. I find chessbase prices too high. If I get it on a good promotion then I can compare.
