The Tarrasch Chess GUI - new version: Tarrasch 3.11a

Tarrasch is an extremely easy to use free chess program for Windows. Tarrasch comes with free chess engines, so you get everything you need to enjoy computer chess with one simple free download.

Tarrasch is designed to to make it as easy as possible to perform some basic chess activities; Play a game against a chess engine, with either color, from any position, with a time handicap if desired.
Setup an arbitrary position and get the engine to analyse that position. View and play through the analysis provided by the engine.
Create and edit .pgn files (standard chess documents). Enter variations easily (just make moves anywhere). Enter and edit comments easily (just click anywhere and start typing). Promote and demote variations and even comments (so comments can change to moves and vice-versa – great for picking text off a website)..

Tweaks and bugfixes as listed below.

 Fix small bug: Promote rest of comment to moves did not work properly if the comment was an initial comment at start of game.
Merge pull request #12 from Github user metiscus, resolves two cases of invalid memory access
Fix another problem identified by Github user metiscus, (see Github issue: Several functions can access memory through invalid pointers #13). Thanks metiscus!
Don't open a file by shell / command line mechanism if we have a dialog box open
Allow GamesDialog to start at non zero game index (for current file dialog go to current game instead)
Fix problem: V3.10 was not showing focused (initial) game if more than a pages worth of games.
Fix bug: GamesDialog title could be gibberish, showed up in DB list all ordered by player feature.
Change button name from Cancel to more accurate Close for File Open Game selection dialogs.
Fix Github.com issue #11, Moving backwards in main line not working
Improvements in Publish to markdown including;
Add extra line break at end
Support "Diagram #" as well as "#Diagram"
Remove space after "Diagram #" or "#Diagram"
Fix a little bug in previous move detection from first move in variation if peer variations
Improved intentation indication (always have parens, suppress extra whitespace after a paren)
Tweak web.zip to reflect improvements in Publish function
Update kingbase-lite.tdb database, includes games through to the end of 2018

  Book - CTG format Customers who wish to use the CTG format book will need a GUI capable of reading this format, ie. Chessbase GUIs.  Please save the book in your book folder. We strongly recommend that you "Optimize" the book in the Book options dialog so the tournament moves are chosen. The book is very wide even in tournament mode unlike most other books. New version chess engine: Lc0 BT4

LcZero - CEDR Rating=3683 vBT4: Big transformer 4. New network architecture which builds off of BT3 by adding two types of auxiliary heads, future heads and categorical value heads. The categorical value heads predict a distribution over values of q rather than a WDL outcome distribution, and the future heads predict the moves that will be played over the next two plies. The hope is that these heads will give additional information to the net to improve training speed. We've also fixed half-precision training, so this model will be larger. BT4 training started in mid-October and is expected to take a few months.     Dragon by Komodo Chess Larry Kaufman: We have released Dragon at komodochess.com. Dragon uses NNUE (Neural Network Updated Efficiently) technology, originally developed for the game of shogi. Komodo has a great deal of chess knowledge in its evaluation. Training an NNUE network based on this evaluation was both an advantage and a challenge, requiring experimentation with architectures and data generation of billions of positions. The reinforcement learning phase for Dragon is in its infancy, but is already showing great promise. Dragon is a huge strength improvement over 14.1, the last release, about 197 elo in MCTS mode and 189 elo in standard mode, at CCRL blitz time control on one thread based on direct matches. With four threads, the gains were 156 elo in MCTS and 170 in standard mode.
