Version 0.6
Version 0.6 uses an improved transposition table with two buckets and aging. It also adds late move reductions and deep futility pruning. Quiet moves are now sorted based on a simple history heuristic which has a nice synergy with LMR. The PST based evaluation is updated incrementally.

In total these changes allow MinimalChess to search much deeper (at the cost of accuracy) so that it gains about 200 ELO in playing strength over the previous version. The removal of the triangular PV table and other simplifications mean that the size of the codebase is about equal to the previous version. This makes this version not only the strongest but also the one with best strength/LOC ratio.

We already have the new Fritz 20 program - what does it look like and how does it work?

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it. As you can see in the second screenshot, the program interface hasn't changed much; only the icons are different (we've been using Fritz 17 until now). It looks nice, but it's no major revolution. The next two screenshots show engine management and the installation of the UCI chess engine (here, Cataphract 1.1). As you can see, there are no changes.
