Leptir - Stockfish clone

  • Author: Leptir Analyzer has the best search of any engine I know. The search is very slow but very accurate. Nevertheless, the tactical strength is the very best (no chess puzzles). It is the best engine in my EN test 2022. It is excellent for analyzing chess theory. On the PlayChess.com server yesterday, I even played with my extremely wide CTG openings book "Solista Universal Extreme"

Stockfish is a free, powerful UCI chess engine derived from Glaurung 2.1. Stockfish is not a complete chess program and requires a UCI-compatible graphical user interface (GUI) (e.g. XBoard with PolyGlot, Scid, Cute Chess, eboard, Arena, Sigma Chess, Shredder, Chess Partner or Fritz) in order to be used comfortably.

Stockfish with it.
The Stockfish engine features two evaluation functions for chess. The efficiently
updatable neural network (NNUE) based evaluation is the default and by far the strongest.
The classical evaluation based on handcrafted terms remains available. The strongest
network is integrated in the binary and downloaded automatically during the build process.
The NNUE evaluation benefits from the vector intrinsics available on most CPUs (sse2,
avx2, neon, or similar).

  HypnoS is a free and strong UCI chess engine derived from Stockfish  that analyzes chess positions and computes the optimal moves. HypnoS does not include a graphical user interface (GUI) that is required  to display a chessboard and to make it easy to input moves. These GUIs are  developed independently from HypnoS and are available online. HypnoS development is currently supported on the Openbench framework. OpenBench (created by Andrew Grant) is an open-source Sequential Probability Ratio Testing (SPRT) framework designed for self-play testing of engines. Author, Eduard Nemeth: This engine is better suited for analysis than the current newer developer versions. The following version is maybe even better. I implemented the network with Dimension 3072 as well as the Random Op. MultiPV mode. Other features include Minimum Thinking Time and Slow Mover. As default is Random Op. MultiPV = 3. I consider this setting to be the best for tactical analysis. With Random Op. MultiPV = 1 the engine behaves like Stockfish 16.1 with network dimension 3072.
