We hope you will consider supporting us today. We need your support to continue to exist, because good entries are more and more work time. Every reader contribution, however big or small, is so valuable. Support "Chess Engines Diary" even a small amount– and it only takes a minute. Thank you.

Chess engine: Valiant Mk V

Valiant Mk V - UCI chess engine
Author: Jedidiah F. Sessions

This engine is British, but much like our monarchy, it's roots date back to Germany (As most of this engine's infrastrucutre was coded by Disservin from Germany, so a great thanks to him)

Credit to Bovington Tank Museum for having a surviving Valiant Infantry tank for the base image to be used for the logo.

Hopefully it is distinct enough from Disservin's engine to not be deemed a clone.

Now in MK V:
Tapered piece values
Hit version 5! (not including Valentine, Failiure, or Archer)
Aspiration Window code partially fixed, still disabled as it does not work (check the source if you want a crack at it)
It can beat it's own creator (860-1095), and absolutely smash them with forks.
 Added startup sound

As someone who is god awful at coding (I'm a musician, coding has just been a hobby to get some old equipment working),any help, criticsm, feedback, ect. would be greatly appreciated.
