Dragon 3.3 wins Middle Class Engines Tournament (Tests by Jörn Gronemann, Heide, 2024.05.27 Time: 3'+3")

Dragon 3.3 was included in the group of medium-class chess engines. It is much weaker than Stockfisk and has no chance against it and its derivatives. Berserk 13 was slightly worse, half a point less. In 3rd place - Obsidian 12.0.

This tournament includes as many as 1365 games.

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it. As you can see in the second screenshot, the program interface hasn't changed much; only the icons are different (we've been using Fritz 17 until now). It looks nice, but it's no major revolution. Stockfish 250702 won the tournament for new versions of chess engines for Android. Rubichess 20250606 JA came in second, and CorChess 250618 came in third.
