Dear Friends of the Chess Engines Diary,
Another year of our dedicated work has come to an end. We've poured countless hours into testing tournaments, meticulously crafted hundreds of informative posts about chess engines, and witnessed an overwhelming response with 1.5 million visitors to our blog in 2024. Our CEDR ranking, a testament to our rigorous analysis, is based on a staggering 550,000 "cleaned" games.
However, 2024 also brought its share of challenges. Two of our laptops, tirelessly working to test chess engines for you, succumbed to wear and tear, making repairs economically unfeasible.
This year demanded immense dedication – hours spent at the computer, diligently adding posts, uploading files, creating intricate tables and compelling graphics, and meticulously maintaining our extensive databases.
Beyond the time investment, 2024 also incurred significant costs. Electricity consumption, the purchase of a new laptop, and a new hard drive added up to over 4 thousand dollars.
We are committed to continuing to provide all our content free of charge. However, we kindly request your support and consider making a donation.
