I'm expecting about +50 Elo and +50k EAS compared to Patricia 5, give or take. Some things that have changed: Simplified human mode; don't need to fiddle with uci_elo and is_human options, just set Skill_Level to a value between 1-20 (21 is full strength) and let her go New set of networks featuring improved position filter algorithms Algorithmic adjustments enabling more sacrifices at the same Elo penalty Significant speed improvements Search optimizations A desktop GUI! Sorry about the wait; I had hoped to train a new set of networks before releasing Patricia 5.0, but couldn't wait any longer. +70 elo LTC +60k EAS Tablebase support Improved (and incredibly aggressive) human mode - check it out! The main feature added was switching to an evaluation involving 3 separate neural networks with different aggression/strength tradeoffs, which increased aggression overall without sacrificing strength. Patricia swaps between them based on aspects of the position such as material and evaluation - e.g. when in a winning middlegame, use the most aggressive net to search for a knockout blow. Many search features were added as well, though after little progress these last two months I don't remember them well enough to make a comprehensive list. Patricia - UCI chess engine Author: Adam Kulju  Rating Chess Engines Diary CEDR=3419 A chess program made with the goal of objectifying chess style, and then training networks to excel at said style. v.4.0: Patricia 4 is now out! Thanks to a new net trained on Patricia data, a lot of search patches, and a bitboard rewrite, she's now able to compete much more effectively with top engines, while retaining her status as the most aggressive chess engine out there. Explanation about the EAS value: I measured an EAS score of 470,000 in my initial testing before release, however when Stefan Pohl tested it under his conditions he only got a score in the low 300 thousands. I've traced this discrepancy to the different books used in the testing, with Pohl using more unbalanced books than me. Pohl's EAS score is more likely to be accurate in engine games, meaning I have a lot of work to do EAS-wise, however I've held up the release long enough so the task of hiking up the EAS und...

The Group E-08 Amateur Chess Engine Section has finished its competition. The Patricia 4.0 engine won, and the Saxton 1.0.0 engine took 2nd place. Both of these engines advanced to the E-07 group. The E-01 group in the Amateur Section of the Chess Engine League has concluded. The Patricia 4 engine emerged victorious, while the StockDory Starfish-0.1 engine secured second place.
