  The Challenger Group B Season 08/2026 tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the CEDR Chess Engine League, has concluded. The Panda 2.0 JA engine won, while the following engines also advanced to Group A: Avalanche 3.0.0, Lunar 0.4.0, Shadow 0.3, Sapling 1.2.7 , and Jackal 2.0.0 . It constitutes some improvements to playing strength and a few other changes. Playing Strength Improvements Panda 1.2's improved playing strength comes from 3 main areas: move ordering, search selectivity and evaluation.
