Omega - new chess engine by Solista (Stockfish derivatives)

Author: The engine is based on Stockfish Dev from May 25, 2025. A few pieces of code from CorChess (dynamic zero-move reduction) are implemented. One shouldn't expect any significant changes compared to previous versions, as the NNUE networks (the most important feature) haven't been improved or expanded by the SF developers for a long time. I recommend using the multi-variation mode with two variations for middlegame analysis—and one variation in the endgame. I've implemented the UCI features Slow Mover and Minimum Thinking Time. The calculated move is always displayed after 3 seconds.

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it. As you can see in the second screenshot, the program interface hasn't changed much; only the icons are different (we've been using Fritz 17 until now). It looks nice, but it's no major revolution.
