Chess Engines Diary League, 2025 Season 5 - Starts Today!

Due to the constantly growing number of engines we're testing, we're making some slight changes to the rules of the CEDR Chess Engine League.

Elite Chess Engine League - Top 64

We're still maintaining the Elite Chess Engine League - Top 64. This will now consist of two leagues with 20 engines in each group, and a third league with 24 engines, totaling 64 engines. Why "Top 64"? It's simple – there are 64 squares on a chessboard!

League Qualifiers

League qualifiers will now be held in a cup system. This change is designed to facilitate faster promotion for strong new engines.

The time control remains 3 minutes plus 3 seconds increment per move (3'+3").
