091024: Rems update: Rems M-091024 by Solista. Features: Brand new network, minimum thinking time, slow mover.
The M stands for previously MPV mode. I wanted to include the date without the engine name becoming too long. This engine was optimized for both analysis and games. I wanted to have a universally usable engine. The engine uses the Random Op. MultiPV mode (MPV=2, Plies 10) for better analysis. Nevertheless, the search is fast. Solving the following position with 2 variations in 8 minutes (Ryzen 3900X) is strong --> Image 1. You can't complain about that. Overall, I was interested in balance, not the number of positions solved in X seconds. I also analyze newer positions that did not appear in my test set.

We already have the new Fritz 20 program - what does it look like and how does it work?

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it. As you can see in the second screenshot, the program interface hasn't changed much; only the icons are different (we've been using Fritz 17 until now). It looks nice, but it's no major revolution. The next two screenshots show engine management and the installation of the UCI chess engine (here, Cataphract 1.1). As you can see, there are no changes.
