New chess engine: HypnoS 220824bis (derived from Stockfish)

Image
HypnoS is a free and strong UCI chess engine derived from Stockfish  that analyzes chess positions and computes the optimal moves. HypnoS does not include a graphical user interface (GUI) that is required  to display a chessboard and to make it easy to input moves. These GUIs are  developed independently from HypnoS and are available online. HypnoS development is currently supported on the Openbench framework. OpenBench (created by Andrew Grant) is an open-source Sequential Probability Ratio Testing (SPRT) framework designed for self-play testing of engines. OpenBench makes use of distributed computing, allowing anyone to contribute CPU time to further the development of some of the world's most powerful engines. 🔝 Rating Chess Engines Diary CEDR=3780 HypnoS  20240727  - results: Caissa 1.20 9/16 +2 16 Partii Stockfish 20240723 5/10 +0 10 Partii Deep SOLIDOR AI 3/6 +0 6 Partii CorChess 20240724 3/6 +0 6 Partii Stockfish 16.1 3/6 +0 6 Partii Lc0 0.31.0 3/4 +2 4 Partii Kookaburr

New chess engine: Sapling 1.0.0

Image
Sapling , a  strong dotnet UCI Chess engine [BETA].  Author: Tim Jones Sapling is still in active development so expect certain features to be missing or experimental. Also the current release is using a NNUE net trained from self play starting with random weights and is only 13 iterations deep, expect the engine to be much stronger in the coming days as the training does takes a while. Requirements - Sapling makes use of hardware intrinsics to improve performance. Currently your CPU must support: `Avx2`, `Bmi1`, `Bmi2`, `Popcnt`, `Sse`. Most modern hardware shipped after 2013 should be supported. - The releases come with a bundled version of the dotnet runtime, however if you want to run from source you'll need the dotnet 8 SDK installed. Chess engines: Heimdall 1.0 JA

Image
Heimdall -  UCI chess engine written in Nim. Author: Mattia Giambirtone More info Heimdall is available on Lichess under its old name (Nimfish), feel free to challenge it! I try to keep the engine running on there always up to date with the changes on the master branch v.1.0: A lot of stuff happened since the release of Heimdall 0.4: a beta version of the engine is now even playing at TCEC! Exciting stuff. Today I'm glad to be releasing the first NNUE version of Heimdall, trained with self-play data. More information about the training process and the data used can be found in the README. What changed A fuckton, actually: Of course, HCE is gone and has been replaced by NNUE. Top 20 here I come! Pretty output support (thanks to @tsoj's patch) Added MoveOverhead option Significant refactoring of search limit handling (compound limits are now supported) History LMR Fix a bazillion bugs with datagen and add win/draw adjudication Make isPV a static bool so that PV branches are spec

Chess engine: Stockfish 17 - 32 bit

Image
Stockfish 17 -  UCI chess engine Roy Sawyer: With Stockfish 15, the developers stopped providing engines for Windows 32-bit, despite the fact that there is still support to do this in the source code. As an owner of one of these old machines, I decided to build the engines myself. Although I have finally upgraded to a 64-bit computer earlier this year, I thought I would build Stockfish 17 32-bit engines for anyone who is still holding on to their old 32-bit computer. Rems MPV Sep24 - UCI chess engine by Solista (Stockfish derivatives)

Image
Rems - chess engine UCI by Solista Rating Chess Engines Diary CEDR=3758 Solista: (Eduard Nemeth) :  Small update to my Rems engine. For me, it's the ultimate tool for analyzing practical positions. For chess puzzles, I recommend special checkmate solvers or the Crystal engine. Rems has an ultra-fast yet accurate search. If you have a fast computer with more than 8 cores, you should use the multi-variant mode. For intensive analysis of openings and middle games, I use 2 variants. But only one in the endgame. Features: External networks, minimum thinking time, slow mover. Version with Random Op. MultiPV mode. Rems MPV Sep24 download
