Gargantua 1.0 wins Group E-04 (Amateur Section) Edition 08/2024, 2024.12.12

The E-04 group of amateur chess engines has ended. The Gargantua 1.0 engine won and the Polaris 1.8.1 engine came in second. Both of these engines advanced to the E-05 group.
The next tournaments are ongoing, the results will be available on our website soon.

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it. As you can see in the second screenshot, the program interface hasn't changed much; only the icons are different (we've been using Fritz 17 until now). It looks nice, but it's no major revolution.
