Crafty what's new?
Crafty NNUE 25.6.1 is the first combined release of Crafty's classical
evaluation and both project-trained NNUE networks in one UCI engine.
August 9, 2026 SMP Update
The existing v25.6.1 assets were refreshed after fixing Heavy NNUE scaling at
high thread counts. Crafty's split workers previously discarded the Heavy
incremental state, rebuilt the complete accumulator from FEN, and created
large evaluator caches repeatedly. The corrected runtime snapshots the
parent's exact state under Crafty's split lock, maintains caches per worker,
and allocates move frames only as needed. A full-position rebuild remains the
correctness fallback.
The networks, evaluator scores, UCI identity, and version are unchanged. An
exact fixed-depth gate returned identical best moves and 19,342,096 nodes per
pass before and after the correction.
