What's new

  • legio-septima, the first network trained from scratch with base and feature blocks together:
    TRANN2, Stockfish's SFNNv16 feature set plus our own PassedPawns block.
  • Evaluation constants retuned for this network: +3.75 ± 3.49 Elo.
  • +5% NPS at identical node counts: release builds compile the tuning parameters as constants.
  • score cp recalibrated for this network: +100 means a 50% chance of winning.

The network is embedded in every binary; nn-legio-septima.nnue is only needed to override it.

Triumviratus in Chess Engines Diary tests

Triumviratus is an exciting and fast-evolving chess engine that, as of September 1, 2026, reached a CEDR rating of 3805. The previous version dominated the Chess Engine League’s 4th Division in the 09/2026 season, winning with ease. Now, the upgraded Triumviratus 7.0 is set to compete in the 3rd Division for the 10/2026 season and looks like the top contender for promotion to the 2nd Division.
