Xiangqi engine: Pikafish 2023-12-03 (Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android)

Pikafish is a free, powerful UCI xiangqi engine derived from Stockfish. Pikafish is not a complete xiangqi program and requires a UCI-compatible graphical user interface (GUI) (e.g. VinXiangQi or BHGUI) in order to be used comfortably. Read the documentation for your GUI of choice for information about how to use Pikafish with it.

The Pikafish engine features the efficiently updatable neural network (NNUE) based evaluation for xiangqi, which is by far the strongest. The strongest network can be downloaded from our official website. The NNUE evaluation benefits from the vector intrinsics available on most CPUs (sse2, avx2, neon, or similar).

v.2023.12.03:
Rule refinement and now totally comply with https://pikafish.org/rule.pdf. since Pikafish is only focused on computer rule, all options related to old rule have been removed.
Network architecture and weights updated, engine parameter tuned via SMP MTC.
Enhanced zugzwang resilience, more tough positions can now be solved.

The purchase process for the download version on the ChessBase website took only 5 minutes. Downloading the files from the cloud was even quicker. The installation itself, which involved five large files, took maybe 7 minutes, including restarting the system and entering the serial number I received upon purchase. The start image for Fritz 20 has a strange mosaic of colors; perhaps I'll get used to it.
